Catholic Heresies

The Heresy of Roman Catholicism

“Roman Catholicism is a complex theological system that, while affirming many central Christian doctrines, contains elements that have been critiqued as heretical or semi-Pelagian by Protestant and Eastern Orthodox theologians. Key issues include its views on salvation, where cooperation with grace and the performance of good works are seen as necessary for final salvation, its claims to papal primacy and infallibility, and its teachings on Purgatory, indulgences, and the veneration of the saints and Mary. The historic Christian orthodox view, as articulated by the Protestant Reformers, emphasizes justification by faith alonesalvation by grace alone, and the authority of Scripture alone, rejecting the semi-Pelagian tendencies found in Roman Catholic theology.”

The troubling, and perhaps eternal, consequences for those who practice these false doctrines, warrant a serious examination by those who practice Catholicism. Just the doctrine of venerating and praying to “Saints” and the mother of Jesus borders on idolatry. I provide the link to this polemic discourse solely in the interest of providing a clear examination of a religious tradition that began its drift from core teaching of  Scripture as early as the 2nd Century and became more apostate as time went on. If you are Roman Catholic you owe it to yourself to examine these issues and make an informed decision. Your eternal existence may depend upon it.
