*Judgement Seat of Christ vs. …

The Judgement Seat of Christ or The Great White Throne Judgement?

Understanding the Two Eternal Judgments

One judgement determines the eternal gifts or rewards you will receive as a faithful servant of Christ Jesus. The other is a judgement of your life as an unrepentant sinner who refused the free gift of salvation offered by God to all mankind. One results in eternal joy and fulfillment and the other in eternal damnation and extreme suffering with no end…ever.

Which one of these lines will you find yourself sanding in on the other side?

Not Just About You

The Great White Throne Judgement that exposes the failures of an unrepentant sinful life will be a multifaceted  torment. Not only will you carry the guilt and regret of your own wasted life but the guilt of not having led your children to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Their intense suffering will add to your burden of suffering for all eternity.

Yes, the sins of the father (or mother) are not passed on to the children but you will be acutely aware of your failure to lead your children into the truths of God. Not only will you be consumed with anguish for your own sins but for the anguish of your progeny whose suffering you will witness.

The Mercy of God and His Desire for All to Be Saved

God Himself wishes that none should perish but that all would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus.

“The Lord isn’t slow to do what he promised, as some people think. Rather, he is patient for your sake. He doesn’t want to destroy anyone but wants all people to have an opportunity to turn to him and change the way they think and act” — [2Peter 3:9 (GWT)].

Stop listening to the lies with which The Evil One has brainwashed the world. Coming to Jesus in faith does not mean that you will suddenly have an insatiable craving to start wearing polyester three-piece suits, become proficient at jumping over church pews, or walking around with your hands folded together with a pious look on your face at all times. Those stereotypes and others have been a successful tool of the enemy throughout the ages to keep humanity (whom he hates) away from a loving God who desires his creation to be united with him for a joyous eternity.

The Sacrifice of Jesus: The Lamb of God

That’s right. You do not possess the power to change. How many times have you tried to do the “right thing” only to fail miserably and continue in your old ways? The truth is that you are born sinful. There is only one who was not born sinful and that is Jesus the Son of God.

“He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth” —(1Peter 2:22)

Under the law of Moses (the Ten Commandments) there were animal sacrifices.  The blood of the innocent animal was shed for the temporary forgiveness of the people’s sins. As Paul the Apostle explains in his letter to the Hebrews:

“Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins” — (Hebrews 9:22).

When Adam and Eve, our first parents, sinned in the garden of Eden, God had to slay innocent animals to provide them with clothing to cover their nakedness. When God made his covenant with the patriarch Abraham there was a sacrifice of innocent animals to ‘seal the deal’ –(Genesis 15:9-10). This sacrifice and shedding of the blood of innocent animals to temporarily cover the sins of man continued throughout the old testament right up until the very day that Jesus shed his innocent blood on the cross in Jerusalem.

Until Jesus there was no innocent human blood to be shed for the permanent forgiveness of mankind’s sin. So God himself became human and shed his own blood to cover and wash away permanently the sins of his most precious creation.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.”  (John 3:16).

and

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1John 1:7-9).

and again

“Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1John 5:12).

Jesus is God in human flesh. Jesus told his disciples, “If you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father.” Jesus lived a sinless life even though he was tempted just as we are all tempted. This qualified him to become the innocent sacrificial ‘Lamb of God’ whose shed blood takes away the sins of the world.

You can never do enough good works to justify yourself before God. Jesus did the only thing that could be done to save mankind…and he did it willingly.

No Greater Love: God’s Plan of Redemption

What greater love is there than a holy and righteous God who suffers and dies for a sinful creation that he could have just destroyed with a snap of his fingers and started over? Imagine how the Father himself suffered as he witnessed his only son being brutalized, tortured, and spit on by the ones he came to save. What more could he have done to prove to you how much he loves you?

The good news is that there is forgiveness of sin and acceptance by Almighty God for those who put their faith in Jesus, turn away from their old sinful life, and trust God to do a miraculous work inside of them; being transformed by the Holy Spirit who will give you a new nature (Born Again).
