3 Truths of Human Reality
In today’s absurd world it is said that every person can have his or her own reality, hence the popular phrase, “Your truth is not my truth.”
Excuse me, what? Reality is Reality just as Truth is Truth. There is only one Truth and it comes directly from the Source of all truth: Almighty God. Yes, that God; the God of the Bible who created, in 6/24 hour days, everything you can and cannot see . The God that we will all answer to when we exhale our last breath.
Here are three truths of your reality. If you don’t come to grips with this, you will experience nothing but pain and regret for Eternity, from which there is no parole:
TRUTH #1
Hell is every human being’s default destination upon death.
We are born with a sin nature. You can observe this in every child no matter how cute, sweet, or lovable they may be. Every human child, when we are old enough to crawl, begin testing our boundaries. Our parents tell us, “No! Don’t touch that!”, fearing we may choke on a small object we’re curious about or harm ourselves in some way. At first we obey, frightened by the sudden outburst of the one who feeds and nurtures us. But then our human nature gets the better of us and we go back to that object that stirred our curiosity and, looking and smiling at the parent, we slowly reach out to touch the forbidden object. We are now not acting as much on our curiosity as much as we are surrendering to our human nature. Unwittingly, we are weighing the impact of the consequences of disobedience against the pleasure of that we will receive from the forbidden object.
Here is what the Word of God says about sin and human nature:
- “All have sinned and fall short” (Romans 3:23). All means all, folks.
 - “There is none righteous, no not one.” (Romans 3:10) None, nada, zippo.
 - “For the wages of sin is death;” (Romans 6:23) Yes, death.

Therefore, we cannot enter Heaven because God is there and God will not tolerate sin to be in His presence.
What’s a sinner to do?
TRUTH #2
God is Love, Yes, But He Is Also Righteous
Now the Bible says that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin (Hebrews 9:22). But God…
- loved us (humanity) so much that, being the only One who is perfect, came to Earth himself born in human flesh, and lived a sinless life. He experienced the same temptations as we do yet did not yield to them (Hebrews 4:15).
 - He was born to die. He lived so as to become qualified as the sacrificial Lamb of God who, by the shedding of His innocent blood, took away the sins of the world (John 12:27).
 - “The one who knew no sin became sin for us” so that we might become reconciled to God the Father (2Corinthians 5:21).

Jesus is God’s gift to mankind, the only way to Heaven and eternal life with God. Jesus himself said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me” (John 14:6). No one means no one.
So how do we receive this free gift from our loving Father in Heaven? The same way you receive any gift.
TRUTH #3
We send ourselves to Hell – Free Choice, remember?
You receive it…you accept the gift from the giver of the gift. You don’t try to pay for it with good works but out of gratitude you accept it and say, “Thank you”.
“Accepting” means you hear, understand, and believe with your whole being that Jesus died to take away your sins and that he is the ONLY way to God. When that truth is verified in you by the Holy Spirit you, at that very moment, are “born again from above” and become a new person in Christ Jesus; no longer an enemy of God but His beloved child.
In Romans chapter 10 Paul the Apostle sums it up this way: “Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and you WILL be saved. And again, in case you didn’t understand that plain statement he says, “All who call upon the name of the Lord WILL be saved.” [Romans 10:13]
As Jesus told the Jewish religious leader (Nicodemus) who sneaked in to see Him under the cover of darkness, “Unless you are born again you cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”
God wishes that none would perish but that ALL would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus (2Peter 3:9), repent of their sins, and enter into a Father/Son or Daughter relationship with Him. Jesus’ death on the cross satisfied the payment due for all of our crimes against the Holy and Righteous God of all creation (Micah 7:19). All animosity between you and God has been forgiven and forgotten the moment you choose to accept his gift of Jesus with a sincere and humble heart.
And Jesus said to Saul on the road to Damascus, “…help them understand and turn them from darkness to light and from Satan’s control to God, so that their sins will be forgiven and they will receive a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me.” (Acts 26:18 -ISV)
But it is now up to you. When Jesus gave up his spirit on the cross at Calvary he declared, “It is finished!” He completed his mission and after three days in the grave he rose up and appeared to hundreds of people over the following 40 days. Then he was raptured in plain sight up to Heaven where he is now seated at the right hand of God, interceding on our behalf (Romans 8:34).
